On Wednesday 16th May we will be running a 1 day competition for a variety of colleges to come together and compete to see who is the best. The National Competition will be run entirely by Brooklands College HND Public Service students, with the aid of a variety of Public Service personnel.

​

The competition day itself will consist of the participating teams taking part in a range of Public Service related activities. Some of the Public Service personnel run activities include exciting activities such as:

• Police Crime Scene

• Royal Marines 

• Fire Hose Run

• Lifeboat Challenge

• Casualty Evacuation (Surrey Search & Rescue)

• Drill

 These are just some of the activities which you will be taking part in.

The activities we have chosen and helped to design for this years National Competition are designed with the aim of challenging individuals determination, physical attributes, problem solving skills, team work and public service ethos. Whilst the main aim is to have a fun yet challenging day, the competition can also be used to aid with public service topics such as Leadership, Command and Control and Understanding Discipline. In addition to all this, by having public service personnel running the activities, it gives the students a chance to talk to current serving personnel and this could help in making decisions on what future careers the students potentially would like to pursue.

In previous years, the competition has been a weekend long competition jam packed with activities and challenges alike. Past National Competitions have received excellent positive  feedback with colleges hoping to return as they found the experience beneficial and aided with improving their current course.
